David Weaver, Democratic candidate for Iowa House District 47, has planned a pair of meet-and-greet events next week.

Weaver will meet with current and retired educators Thursday, Sept. 13, from 5 to 6:30 pm at the Greene County Welcome Center and Thomas Jefferson Gardens at 201 E. Lincoln Way in Jefferson.

Weaver was recently endorsed by the Iowa State Education Association. “On behalf of the Iowa State Education Association (ISEA) representing education professionals across the state, we are pleased to recommend David Weaver for the Iowa House,” said ISEA president Tammy Wawro. “We believe David Weaver will do what is best for all of Iowa’s students regardless of the ZIP code in which they live and will be a voice for education professionals as important decisions are made that impact our students and our public schools.”

Hosts for the Sept. 13 event are Beth Vander Wilt and Darren Jackson. Local voters interested in public education in Iowa are also invited to attend.

Weaver will hold a public listening post Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 to 11 am at the Grand Junction Community Center on Main St in Grand Junction.

The candidate will be there to listen to the public’s questions, concerns, and ideas about state government. He will also provide an update on his campaign. All interested voters are encouraged to attend.

Persons who are unable to attend but would like to share ideas can contact Weaver directly at weaverforiowa@gmail.com or at 563-940-1414.

Additional listening posts will be held in upcoming weeks in communities throughout Boone and Greene Counties.
