Girls second, boys seventh at Wild Cat cross country meeet

The Ram cross country team competed for the third time in eight days, running Aug.30 at the Wild Cat Cross Country Classic hosted by West Central Valley at the 5 X 80 Club golf course in Stuart.

The girls finished in second place of eight teams, their best finish of the young season. The boys finished seventh of 11 teams, also their best finish.Ram junior Kassie Lamoureux medaled for the second time this season, finishing in ninth place with a personal record time of 22:3. Connor Brus led the boys with a time of 19:47.
Placings and times in the girls race were Kassie Lamoureux, 9th, 22:36.34; Conner Allender, 20th, 24:14.94; Ashlee Harmeyer, 27th, 24:47.03; Makayla Kafer, 32nd, 25:17.71; Izzy Bravard, 41st, 26:37.04; Tieryn Tucker, 68th, 32:27.86; and Kirsten Lamoureux, 69th, 32:28.03. The winning time in the girls race was 19:49.21 set by Ella Waddle of Panorama.

Team scores for the girls were Panorama 24, Greene County 101, Nodaway Valley 101, Exira-EHK 104, Audubon 117, Southwest Valley 119, Martensdale St Mary’s 156, and CAM 161.

Placings and times in the boys race were Conner Brus, 25th, 19:47.70; Jack Bryson, 35th, 20:13.45; Trevor Lebeck, 44th, 21:40.69; Jayden Carstensen, 445th, 21:45.39; Brian Hardaway, 59th, 22:23.67; Jax Carstensen 60th, 22.25.94; Isaiah Losee, 63rd, 22:49.16; Ethan Larson, 80th, 24:37.67; and Anthony Tolsdorf, 81st, 24:47.75. Winning time was 17:05.35 set by Joshua Baudler of Nodaway Valley.

Team scores for boys teams were Nodaway Valley 37, Des Moines Christian 51, Saydel 70, Martensdale St Mary’s 134, West Central Valley 148, Panorama 159, Greene County 179, Ankeny Christian Academy 210, Interstate 35 229, CAM 240, and Southwest Valley 330.

Next on the schedule is the Ram Invitational Thursday, Sept. 6, at Spring Lake Park.
