Young archers win medals at Iowa Games

Participants in the Jefferson park and recreation department’s archery program had the opportunity to compete in the Iowa Games on the Iowa State University campus July 21-22.

Official results have been released of the archery target competition. In the Olympic freestyle limited recurve division Kristin Wailes won the gold medal in the youth female division. In the youth male division, Jax Carstensen won the gold medal, Wyatt French won the silver, and Jayden Carstensen won the bronze.

Don Orris, Phil Siglin and Tim Ely are volunteer instructors of the program. Twenty archers participated this summer.
