Cram the Cab nets $1,600 for local food pantry

Sponsored by Greene County Farm Bureau

Shoppers at the Jefferson Fareway store helped fight hunger in Greene county by participating in the county’s third annual Cram the Cab event June 25 – 30.

Rueter’s Red Power once again donated the use of a tractor to promote the event.

All donations were raised at Farm Bureau’s Cram the Cab event. Monaghan also delivered several boxes of non-perishable food items that had been purchased at the store to be donated to the cram the cab event.

The total amount raised was $1,600 and this year’s food drive was bolstered by a generous donation from Prestige Automotive in Scranton. Greene County Farm Bureau would like to thank Julie & Ron Smith, owners of Prestige Automotive, for helping us feed those in need in the county.

The county Farm Bureau also appreciates the support of the Jefferson Fareway store staff and their customers to provide this considerable contribution.

County president John McCormick said, “Farm Bureau’s annual Cram the Cab event provides a convenient way for individuals to make a monetary donation or non-perishable food donation to the Greene County Christian Action Resource Center.”
