Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Jefferson police department:

Sunday, July 15: At 2:02 pm a complainant advised of a careless driver on Highway 30 heading east into Jefferson. The officer located the reported vehicle at Wild Rose Casino. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Jeng Vang, 36, of Denison for driving while barred (aggravated misdemeanor)*.

Saturday, July 14: Routine activity reported.

Friday, July 13: At 1:54 pm Dennis Smalley reported his parked 2009 Toyota Venza was struck and damaged at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Damage was reported to be $200. The officer is investigating. At 4:11 pm an officer investigated a property damage accident at the intersection of S. Wilson and Russell St. Dezetta Thompson of Grand Junction left the posted yield sign at the intersection into the patch of an oncoming 2010 Ford Edge owned and operated by Kristi Winters of Jefferson. Thompson was cited for failure to obey a yield sign. Damage to her 1997 Dodge Intrepid was estimated at $100. Damage to Winters’ vehicle was estimated at $1,000. At 10:29 pm an officer investigated a one-vehicle property damage accident at S. Wilson and Monroe St. Troy Cathers of Dayton turned the corner too sharp and struck a guy wire on a utility pole. Cathers was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to his 2008 Ford Focus was estimated at $1,500. The guy wire was not damaged.

Thursday, July 12: At 2:57 pm an officer investigated a backing accident in the 100 block of E. State St. Jeffrey Headley of Farnhamville was backing a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Landus Cooperative from a parking stall and struck an eastbound 2015 Chevrolet Impala operated and owned by Susan Forkner of Jefferson. Headley was cited for unsafe backing upon highway. Damage to the Landus vehicle was estimated at $500. Damage to Forkner’s vehicle was estimated at $3,000. At 4:25 pm a complainant reported receiving a scam phone call. The caller advised him he had missed jury duty and there was now an arrest warrant for him. He would be immediately arrested unless he made payment to the caller. Four other Jefferson residents advised of receiving the same scam phone call. No one fell for the scam and no losses were incurred by anyone. ***** Eight parking violation notices were issued on the downtown square for street sweeping violation.

Wednesday, July 11: At 12:3 pm officers arrested Adam Michael Winger, 37, of Jefferson on an outstanding Jefferson PD arrest warrant for trespass (simple misdemeanor)*.

Tuesday, July 10: At 10:08 am a stray dog found in the county was brought to Jefferson. An officer placed the dog in the animal holding facility.

Monday, July 9: At 8:05 am a complainant reported a male subject wearing an ankle bracelet in her yard in the 100 block of W. Wilcoxway. The officer’s investigation has led to the request of an arrest warrant Adam Michael Winger, 37, of Jefferson for trespass (simple misdemeanor)*. At 8:35 am a complainant reported a male subject peering into her windows in the 100 block of Sunset Drive. The officer believes the subject was Adam Winger and future charges are pending in the event. At 12:27 pm Hy-Vee staff reported a shoplifting event from 7/08. The video provided to the officer shows a female taking a cell phone charger from the business without paying for it. The officer has applied for an arrest warrant for Ashlee Kaye Agan, 26, of Jefferson for theft- fifth degree (simple misdemeanor)*. At 1:03 pm a complainant reported finding a pair of men’s sandals behind his garage in the 100 block of W. Wilcoxway. Witnesses reported seeing Winger in yards in the area in the early morning. Winger was not wearing shoes when confronted by a subject who found him on her property. The investigation continues. At 1:55 pm an officer removed an abandoned bicycle from the skate park in the 500 block of E. Lincoln Way. The bike was placed in the city impound lot. At 7:46 pm a traffic stop in the 200 block of W. Lincoln Way resulted in the arrest of Brittany Ann Neal, 24, of Churdan for driving while license barred (aggravated misdemeanor)*. She was also cited for operation without registration.

Sunday, July 8: At 10:50 am officers of the Federal Bureau of Investigation advised JPD officers of a photograph that was flagged on the Snapchat app. The photograph was of eight long guns with the text across the picture “Ready for school 7 can join me”. Officers began investigating and determined the photograph was posted by a 15-year-old male in Jefferson. After speaking with the male at his residence at 302 E. McKinley St, he was subsequently arrested at 3:45 pm for threat of terrorism (Class D felony) and harassment- first degree (aggravated misdemeanor)*. He was released to the juvenile court officer and all eight firearms were removed from the residence.

Saturday, July 7: At 12:55 pm a complainant reported damage to his 1999 Honda Odyssey after he had found a window to be broken. An officer is investigating. At 3:59 pm officers responded to the intersection of W. Lincoln Way and Elm St for a two-vehicle accident. Samantha Behne of Jefferson was eastbound in the 200 block of W. Lincoln Way driving her Toyota Camry. Cameron Searcy, 21, of Boone following her and struck the rear of her vehicle. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $100. As the officer was speaking with Searcy, he believed him to be intoxicated. Searcy was subsequently arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (aggravated misdemeanor)* and transported to the Greene County jail. He was also cited for failure to stop in assured clear distance. At 10:44 pm Nicholas Webber, 18, was arrested on an outstanding Boone County arrest warrant for sex abuse- second degree*.

Friday, July 6: At 9:20 pm Karina Marvin, 20, was arrested on an active Minnesota arrest warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of methamphetamine and a violation of conditions of release*.

Thursday, July 5: At 10:37 am a complainant reported criminal mischief had occurred overnight to her 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. Someone had broken the back window of the vehicle. At 4:55 pm Casey’s General Store reported a gas drive-off in the amount of $20. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle. At 5:13 pm a resident spoke to an officer concerning a problem with stray cats in the 300 block of Rushview Drive. The officer advised the resident she could trap the animals and remove them on her own, but the PD does not currently offer the service. ***** Arrest warrants have been requested for a shoplifting event at HyVee on 07/04/. Jill Ranae Kanealy, 36, of Grand Junction will be charged with theft- fifth degree and trespass (both simple misdemeanors)*.

Wednesday, July 4: At 11:04 am staff at HyVee reported a female subject who was banned from the business had returned and stolen meat products. The officer is investigating the event. At 2:43 on a traffic stop in the 600 block of N. Maple St resulted in the arrest of Seth Michael Butler, 29, of Jefferson for driving while license barred (aggravated misdemeanor)*. He was also cited for failure to provide proof of security liability and failure to wear safety belt. At 9:43 pm a complainant reported a small fire at Vine and West Head Street in a container subjects had used to set off fireworks. The officer was able to put the fire out with his fire extinguisher. No one was present in the area.

Tuesday, July 3: At 1 pm staff at White Oak Station reported a gas drive-off in the amount of $37.68. The officer is investigating.

Monday, July 2: At 11:53 am an officer arrested Tanya Christine Mari Maldonado, 41, of Chicago, IL, on an outstanding Jefferson PD arrest warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of possession of methamphetamine (serious misdemeanor) and unlawful possession of prescription drugs*. At 2:36 p an officer investigated a two-vehicle property damage accident at Highway 30 and N. Mulberry St. Thomas Hammel of Jefferson left the posted stop sign on Mulberry St and struck the rear corner of an oncoming vehicle owned and operated by Sarah Klocke of Carroll. There were no injuries. Hammel was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Damage to his 2017 Ford F150 was estimated at $500. Damage to Klocke’s 2011 Jeep Liberty was estimated at $1,500. At 5:59 pm Carroll County officers requested an officer check for a female for whom there was an outstanding Carroll County arrest warrant. The officer arrested Jessica Ann Marie Kelton, 19, of Jefferson on the warrant for failure to appear*. She was later transported by a Greene County sheriff’s deputy to the Greene/Carroll county line where custody was transferred.

Sunday, July 1: At 12:28 am a traffic stop in the 500 block of N. Elm St resulted in the arrest of Richard Jessie Duran, 45, of Panama, for driving while license barred (aggravated misdemeanor)*. He was also cited for improper brake light and failure to provide proof of security liability.
