Things not to miss at the fair

The Greene County Fair  offers something for everyone, from lamb wrestling at the 4-H/FFA sheep show and young girls with little cows,  to chainsaw sculpture west of the Fair office.

This quilt will go home Sunday with the owner of a winning raffle ticket.

For those who like games of chance, there’s the quilt raffle in Clover Hall. Blocks submitted in the 2017 people’s choice quilt block contest were used by Suzanne Sievers of the Stitch to create a stunning quilt in vintage red, white and blue. The winning ticket will be drawn Sunday afternoon; all proceeds go to the Greene  County 4-H Foundation.

The 2018 people’s choice quilt block contest is also in Clover Hall, this time in sherbet shades – pink, orange, green, yellow, and more. Each cent equals one vote. The creator of the winning block will receive a gift certificate for the Stitch. All the votes will also go to the Greene County 4-H Foundation.

Fair-goers will select the “best” quilt block in people’s choice voting. They’ll be back at the fair next year as a full-size quilt.
