Scranton city clerk Hinners resigns

Scranton city officials are looking for a new city clerk following the resignation of Melinda Hinners. Her resignation was accepted at a special council meeting June 25.

Hinners’ resignation was effective July 6. She has agreed to work part-time until a replacement is hired and trained.

The council planned to review the clerk applications at its July 10 meeting.

Joan St Clair with MacDonald Insurance presented the annual insurance renewal for the fiscal year 2019 at the special meeting. The Council approved a payment of $32,814.64 after July 1 for the renewal.
