Benefit for Landon Martin slated for July 18

A benefit dinner and silent auction for Landon Martin will be held on Wednesday, July 18 from 5:00pm – 7:00 pm at the Greene County Fairgrounds Clover Hall. A free will donation will be taken at the door.

Landon is the 12-year-old son of Bryce and Valerie Martin of Jefferson and was diagnosed with brain cancer in March. Since his diagnosis, Landon has undergone two surgeries and a regimen of radiation and chemotherapy.

The benefit will help to offset expenses for the family and will include a pork dinner, silent auction, and raffle.

Silent auction items have been donated by multiple businesses and individuals and include hand crafted items, gift cards to area establishments, tickets to Iowa State athletic events and the Iowa vs. Husker game, local pork with processing, home décor, and much more.

A Kids’ Silent Auction will also be part of the evening, with items specifically geared for children for a maximum bid of $10.

Two 1/4 Angus beef with processing fees will be raffled off as part of the event, and individuals do not need to be present to win. Tickets for the drawing are one ticket for $5, or five tickets for $20 and can be purchased locally at Home State Bank.

Individuals who would like to support the family but are unable to attend the benefit on July 18 can send donations to the Landon Martin Benefit in care of Home State Bank.
