J-S graduate killed in one-vehicle crash July 4

Sheana Marie Story of Des Moines, a 2008 Jefferson-Scranton graduate, was killed in an automobile crash July 4.

The one-vehicle accident happened at 6 am on I-80 in Adair County. According to the Iowa State Patrol, Story was westbound driving a 2006 Ford Fusion when her vehicle drifted off the roadway. The vehicle struck the cable barrier at the edge of the shoulder and continued into the ditch, rolling end for end three or four times.

Story was not wearing a seatbelt. She was ejected from the vehicle and was found 12 feet from it. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Story is the daughter of Nancy Walker of Jefferson and Richard Story of Watertown, NY. Other survivors include her grandfather Jim Grace of Jefferson and her siblings Tyler Grace and his wife Kara of Des Moines, Sarah Walker of Chesapeake, VA, Melissa Barrett and her husband Mike of Jefferson, and Michael Walker and his wife Cassie of Belleview, MN.
Funeral services are pending at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home in Jefferson.
