Training for childcare providers in Jeff July 10

Healthy nutrition and physical activity behaviors need to begin early during the preschool years. Research suggests some health behaviors can be established before children begin school and the childcare setting can play an important and influential role.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offers child care provider training, which is approved by the Department of Human Services. The training helps providers identify, recognize and implement best practices relative to nutrition, physical activity, health and safety for children under their care.

Extension nutrition and wellness specialists Ann Heuer and Renee Sweers will host Actions Speak Louder than Words child care training on Tuesday, July 10, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the ISU Extension and Outreach Greene County office. Child care providers will learn how to role-model healthy behaviors for children in their care.

Registration is available online at: http://bit.ly/asltw9980. Persons who want more information can all the Extension office at 515-386-2138.
