‘Farm to Fair’ dinner for 500 planned for Iowa State Fair

The largest dinner table ever set at the Iowa State Fair will seat 500 persons for a “Farm to Fair” dinner Sunday, Aug. 12, on Grand Avenue, right in the thick of Iowa State Fair fun.

Tickets for a seat the table are free, but are limited. Persons who would like to attend should tell organizers why they’d like a seat the table by July 20. Applications are at www.iowastatefair.org/whats-new. Admission to the fair is included for the 500 winners.

“Food is very important at the Iowa State Fair, but this is a one-of-a-kind chance to sit down the farmers to enjoy a meal from Iowa’s beef, pork, corn, dairy, egg, soybean and turkey farmers,” said Gary Slater, Iowa State Fair manager and CEO.

Farm to Fair is sponsored by the Iowa Beef County, Midwest Dairy Association, Iowa Pork Producers, Iowa Corn, Iowa Egg Council, Iowa Soybean Association and the Iowa Turkey Federation.
