Spelling champs determined

Spelling seemed to be a  family affair at the annual  spelling bee hosted by the Greene County Historical Society as part of the Bell Tower Festival.

Vander Lindens claimed first place in three age divisions, with Lucy in the grades 3-4 division, Gavin in the grades 5-8 division, and Wendy in the adult division.

Kassie Lamoureux (left) placed first, Regan Lamoureux (right) placed second, and Kirsten Lamoureux placed third in the high school division.

In the high school division the Lamoureux sisters were the only three competitors. Kassie and Kirsten, who will be juniors next year, took first and third place respectively. Regan, who graduated in May from Greene County High School as co-valedictorian, placed second.

Emmalee Baugh won the grades 1-2 division, Sam Derry placed second in the grades 3-4 division and Natalie Baugh placed third.  Vicki Rush placed second in the adult division.
