P-C seniors honor mentors, receive awards and scholarship
The annual Paton-Churdan senior mentor banquet was held Wednesday, May 9, at the Paton Community Room. Seniors, along with their parents and mentors shared a catered meal sponsored by Community State Bank of Paton and United Bank of Iowa- Churdan.
Paton-Churdan seniors each complete a portfolio that includes an essay explaining the life lessons learned from a particular adult. They read the essays, with their mentor beside them, at the banquet.

Maria Tasler received a $500 scholarship from the Greene County Soil & Water Conservation district, presented by Libby Towers
Libby Towers presented a $500 scholarship from the Greene County Environmental Habitat Corp to Mariah Tasler
Denise Menke presented a $400 scholarship from the P-C Education Association to Jake Berns
Charlie Minnehan and Madisyn Behrens received $500 scholarships from Morning Star Masoic lodge, presented by Don Hyndman
Madisyn Behrens received a $1,250 Lohr scholarship and Jake Berns received a $750 Lohr scholarship, presented by Annie Smit
Madisyn Behrens received a $250 Higgins/Hoyle scholarship, presented by Denny Tilley
Libby Towers presented $500 Lyle Graue scholarships to Jake Berns and Madisyn Behrens
Annie Smith presented a $500 Des Moines Area Community College scholarship to Charlie Minnehan
Cale Juergensen presented a $300 scholarship from the Greene County Corn Growers Assn and a $500 scholarship from the Greene County Pork Producers to Jake Berns
