“Pow! Zap! Bam!” Let’s beat cancer!

Zack, Tatym and Kaylee Stalder are ready for the Heroes-in-Training 6-block run

The Stalder Super Squad (Zack, Kaylee, Bryce, and Tatym, children of Kyle and Cheri Stalder) are ready for the 5K and Heroes-in-Training Fun Run being held as part of this year’s Greene County Relay For Life on Saturday, April 21.

The 5K run/walk is an annual event for these heroes who are helping to fight cancer while enjoying some power filled exercise as a family.

“You, too can help fight cancer- just sign up,” an 5K committee spokesperson said.

The Heroes-in-Training 6-block run around the square is for those 12 years and younger. Each participant will get a super hero cape to keep.

The full 5K is open to all ages with participants receiving a super hero T-shirt. It will be a costume run, with cash prizes offered for the best individual, best duo, and best team costumes. A voluntary $5 villain fine will be collected from participants who don’t wear costumes.

Registration before or on April 13 is $20 for persons 13 years and older, and $10 for persons 12 years and younger. After April 14, registration fees are an additional $5. Registration forms are available at the Greene County Community Center.

Same-day registration and check-in will begin at 9:30  am at the Community Center. The Heroes-in-Training run will start at 10:30, after the Survivor Walk, and the 5K run/walk will begin at 10:45.

Sponsors for the running events are ShineOn Designs, Neese Inc, and Peoples Trust & Savings Bank.
