Operation ReLeaf making trees available to homeowners

Alliant Energy, Iowa DNR and Greene County Extension are sponsoring the Operation ReLeaf residential tree program in Jefferson.

Operation ReLeaf is a partnership initiative to aid long-term energy and natural resource conservation. The program is funded by Alliant Energy and administered by the Greene County conservation board along with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources – Bureau of Forestry.

Alliant Energy customers are allowed to purchase two trees  from among 11 different varieties. Trees must be picked up Saturday, May 12 between 9 and 10:30 am at the Greene County fairgrounds in Jefferson. Trees are non-refundable or exchangeable, and they are not under warranty.

The application form along with payment for the tree is due on Friday, May 4, at the Greene County Extension office. Order applications are being accepted until all trees are sold.
