JPRD tells upcoming events

The Jefferson park and recreation department reminds parents that the registration deadline for the U8, U10, U12 and U15 soccer leagues is Friday, March 23, at close of business. Practices will begin the following week. Registration forms are available and can be returned to the Greene County Community Center.

U6 soccer introduces participants in pre-school to 5 years old to basic soccer skills. U6 players will meeting Mondays, April 9 through May 7, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at Kelso Park in Jefferson.

JPRD, with help from the Jefferson Kiwanis Club and local merchants is again hosting an Easter egg hunt for toddlers through third graders.

The Easter egg hunt is Saturday, March 31. Registration will begin at 9:15 am and the hunt will start at 10. Participants are split into age groups before the hunt begins.

There will be candy, coupons, prizes, and a visit by the Easter Bunny. There is no charge. Pre-registration is suggested by not required.

Four-legged friends are invited to the doggie Easter egg hunt March 31 at Daubendiek Park. Registration begins at 12:30 pm at the park shelter, and the hunt begins at 1. There will be goodies for owners and pets.

The doggie Easter egg hunt is hosted by Animal Protection and Education charity of Paton.
