J-S grad shares workplace tips with students

Erin Brooker  Westergaard, a 2002 Jefferson-Scranton graduate, spoke to students in  Mrs Carlson’s public speaking classes Ms. Green’s class at Greene County High School.

A graduate from ISU in business, Westergaard is vice-president of client services of CDS Global under the parent company Hearst. She travels frequently in the United States and to London on occasion. She has been successful with customer client accounts such as American Heart Association and the Salvation Army to name only a few.

Westergaard talked about real world working skills and emphasized to students that it isn’t always about how smart you are, but the hard work and people skills you develop. Along with a strong work ethic, Westergaard emphasized being humble, respectful, and having integrity. Recently, she received an outstanding employee recognition award in New York, which included a bonus.

Her inspirational and personal story is relatable to Greene County High School students who will enter the workforce soon.

Westergaard is the daughter of Leo and Keri Brooker of Jefferson.
