Chief medical officer hired at medical center

Greene County Medical Center has hired a part-time Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Dr Michael Line, a pediatric hospitalist at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines, joined the medical center on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

In this administrative position Line will monitor current medical center care practices, as well as lead and support the network of providers who serve Greene County Medical Center to guide in best clinical outcomes and care coordination.

Line will maintain his pediatric hospitalist position with Blank Children’s Hospital and travel to Jefferson two days a week. He will be part of the executive team at the medical center.

Line is a University of Wisconsin graduate and completed his residency at Blank Children’s Hospital. He also completed a two-year fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at Children’s Hospital in Denver through the University of Colorado. He has been a pediatric hospitalist since 2004 and has been at Blank Children’s Hospital since 2011. He completed a masters in medical management through the University of Southern California in 2017.

Dr Line takes the place of Dr Jon Van Der Veer, who was with the medical center from April 2014 to November 2017.
