Rippey library Christmas party – Those who attended the “Jingle and Mingle” party at the library on Dec. 13 enjoyed the Christmas atmosphere. The community room was decorated and there were plenty of goodies to eat. The young people who took part in the games and contests provided great entertainment for the older crowd, who were content to watch the fun. Many thanks to those who helped with decorations, goodies and other support for this library event.

Reminder: Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017: Snow globe craft at 3:30.

The library will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Rippey United Methodist Church – The third Sunday of Advent worship services on Sunday morning, Dec. 17, were conducted by the True Heroes Under God (THUG) youth group. The group provided poems, songs and instrumental music during the service, with the help of their leader, Angela Abbas and her husband Jason, who filled in for Avery Bardole, who was sick. The members who took part were Kaitlyn and Emma McColley, Jordan Davis, Nat Payan and Arthur Bardole. It was announced that the youth mission trip will be based out of a Methodist Church in Detroit this summer. The adult choir provided songs for the introit and offering.

The Rippey United Methodist Church Christmas Eve service will be at 8 pm. (lessons, carols, and candles)

There will be no Rippey choir practice on Dec. 27, no anthem on Dec. 31, and choir practice on Jan. 3 will be at 6:30, before the ad council meeting so we can sing an anthem on Jan. 7. ~Dick Bardole, director
