The Jefferson VFW auxiliary has put up its 14th annual Tree of Heroes in the south lobby of the courthouse. The auxiliary makes stars with information about any veteran the contributor would like to honor, listing name, branch of service, etc.
To honor any veteran, serviceman or woman, send information and a donation to auxiliary treasurer Jan Schrunk at 200 E. Clark St, Jefferson, IA 50129. After the holidays, the stars will be passed along to the donor.
The Tree of Heroes is a fundraiser for community projects during the holiday season and throughout the year.
