JPRD slates ‘Meet the Rams’ event

Also, register now for youth wrestling

The Ram girls basketball team and the Jefferson park and recreation department will host “Meet the Rams” Thursday, Nov. 9, from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Greene County Community Center.

The Ram girls team will organize games and activities to promote the game of basketball and to provide role models for younger girls. Activities will be geared toward youngsters in grades K-8, but adults are welcome.

There is no charge, but participants who want an autographed T-shirt should bring their own white T-shirt.

Same day registration is allowed, but youngsters must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

Also, JPRD is now accepting registrations for wrestling for grades K-5.

Young grapplers will meet Saturdays from Dec. 2 through Jan. 20 (except for Dec. 23), with grades K-2 at 9:30 am and grades 3-5 from 10:15 to 11:15. The program will meet at the Jefferson Fieldhouse on S. Chestnut St.

There is a $20 charge for the program. Sean Sebourn is lead coach.
