‘Citizenship’ test for canines offered Nov. 18

The American Kennel Club good citizen test will be offered Saturday, Nov. 18, from 3 to 5 pm at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson.

Passing the good citizen test is a prerequisite for therapy dogs. According to Linn Price, LVT, “good citizen” is a fun title to have and shows that dogs have basic obedience skills.

The test covers sit, down, heel, stay, come, meeting a friendly stranger, walking through a crowd, and reaction to distractions.

There is a $10 charge for the test. Person who want more information can call the Jefferson park and recreation department at 515-386-3412.
