Tickets available for 19th annual Rotary dinner, auction

Tickets are available now for the 19th annual Dinner and Auction hosted by the Jefferson Rotary Club. The gala will be Friday evening, Nov. 10, in the Greene Room at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson.

Since 1999, the annual event has raised more than $500,000 that has supported programs for local schools and youth, community projects, and the humanitarian projects of Rotary International and Rotary District 6000.

“The dinner and auction have become one of the premier social events of the year,” said auction chair Adam Pedersen. “It’s a chance to dress up a bit, to enjoy a great dinner in an upscale atmosphere with friends. There’s a huge variety of items on both the silent auction and the live auction, and with professional auctioneer Dave Whitaker returning for another auction, we know it will be a fun evening.”

This year’s buffet dinner will include prime rib and chicken, with several sides and tempting desserts. As in previous years, there will be complimentary wine on the tables.
A social hour will begin at 5:30 pm. The buffet will start at 6:30 and the live auction will follow. Bidding on silent auction items will begin when doors open and continue through the evening.

A highlight of the live auction will be a one-week stay in a condo in Hawaii. There will be tickets for sporting events, travel get-aways, entertainment, gift certificates for services by local professionals and much more.

Ticket sales chair is Andy Harland at Don’s Ace Hardware in Jefferson. Persons who want more information can call Harland at 515-386-3215, or Pedersen at 515-370-5066.
Rotarians are also selling raffle tickets for at least nine $250 cash prizes to be drawn during the evening. The popular hog raffle will also take place. It is not necessary to be present for the cash raffle.

“This is an evening of entertainment that benefits our community and people all over the globe,” said Pedersen. “We’re looking forward to a wonderful event.”
