The Scranton High School class of 1967 held its 50-year reunion on Sept. 16 at the Scranton Community Center.
The guest tables were decorated in a fall theme with centerpieces crafted by Mary Miller Johnson. Snacks and desserts were provided by Martha Gibson Shoff, Mary Miller Johnson, Jane Tolsdorf Gallentine and Donna Hicks Wenger. A delicious evening meal was served by Lidderdale Catering.
Letters were received from classmates Gene Blanshan of West Des Moines; Gardner Fey of Canon City, CO; Dana Johnson of Washington, MO; and Dee Ann Davis Ringstead of Santa Maria, CA. Mary Miller Johnson brought a collection of 1967 Scranton Journal newspapers which were enjoyed by the class.
Present at the reunion were Tom Hilts of Ames, Mr and Mrs Tiny Gallentine (Jane Tolsdorf) of Conrad, Mr and Mrs Jon Oxenford of Ankeny, John Whitver of Ralston, Mr and Mrs Charlie Johnson (Mary Miller) of Mitchellville, Geneva Henning Rajski of Princeton, TX, Geneva’s daughters Kim Garcia and Julie Byerly of Jefferson, Mr and Mrs Denton Wenger (Donna Hicks) of Scranton, Mr and Mrs Dan Schermerhorn (Elaine Lawrence) of Scranton, Mr and Mrs Jerry Shoff (Martha Gibson) of Cedar Falls, Chris Zahner Cohen of Portland, OR, and Marilyn Marsh Phillips of Bakersfield, CA.
