Middle school students giving away produce they grew

Student-grown produce

The Volunteer Club at Greene County Middle School has many projects, but one of the more ambitious projects taken on during the last school year is a Volunteer Club garden.

Students planted the garden and maintained it all summer. They’re harvesting fresh produce like zucchini, summer squash, corn and tomatoes, and delivering to those who need/want it.

The new give-away time is Saturdays Sept. 16, Sept. 30 and Oct. 14, from 8 to 9 am. There is plenty of free produce due to the students’ efforts. “Please partake,” a student spokesperson said.
