Building Teamwork outdoor obstacle challenge party caps summer reading program

During the 2017 summer reading program, “Build a Better World” at the Jefferson public library, children worked individually on their BINGO sheets and reading, and also participated in team activities.

Not only did children earn a final party complete with performer Richard Renner at the end of the program, but children who read at least 240 minutes during the program were invited to participate in a Building Teamwork outdoor obstacle challenge party at Russell Park July 31.

The children had a great time with parachute games, hopper ball and water balloon relays, an arches & hoops obstacle challenge, three-legged races, giant beach ball team challenge, water cup and egg relay races, a water dragon squirter, Connect Four, duck pond matching games and a tug-of-war team challenge.

The children found that with teamwork….everyone achieves more.

The party was funded through donations given during the Jefferson public library and Jefferson Elks sponsored Trivia Night programs. Ninety children, parents, caregivers and volunteers attended.
