Winners told in fair livestock shows

Greene County 4-H members showed their livestock projects at shows held during the county fair July 11-15. Greene County Extension & Outreach has released results of those shows.

DOG – The 2017 4-H dog agility show was held on Tuesday, July 11, with the 4-H dog obedience and showmanship show held Wednesday. Kris Perisho of Pilot Mound judged the dog agility show, Rebecca Haugland of Ames judged obedience, and Rachel Reece of Perry judged handling/showmanship. The shows were organized by dog superintendents Melisse Schilling & Ashley Kuhl.

Venner judged the live production portion of the contest, while Janssen evaluated the interview and recordkeeping component. The show was organized by Beef Pen of 3 superintendent Dan Frederick. The beef grid contest coordinator was Mike Holden. Several volunteers assisted with the show as well.

The Herd Builder Show was also held Friday. This year a new division was added, the replacement pen of three heifers class.
