Greene County magistrate court, week ending July 13

In Greene County magistrate court a judgment was entered July 12 against Nathaniel Brown of Des Moines on a charge of harassment- simple. Brown was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. Court costs were $241.55. The case was initiated in district court on a charge of harassment- first degree.

A judgment was entered against Laura Michele Hoyle of Churdan on a charge of assault- simple. Hoyle was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. Court costs were $172.50. The case was initiated in district court on a charge of domestic abuse assault- second offense.

A judgment was entered against Conner Laine Lopez of Jefferson on a charge of assault- simple. Lopez was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. Court costs were $100. The case was initiated in district court on a charge of domestic abuse assault causing injury.

A judgment was entered against Niko Lee Rice of Paton on a charge of theft- fifth degree. Rice was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. He must also pay $25 restitution to Hy-Vee or an amount agreed upon. Court costs were $60.

A judgment was entered against Rodney Wesley Reed of Grand Junction on a charge of harassment- third dgree. Reed was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. Court costs were $109.90.

Cases were initiated in magistrate court during the week ending July 13 as follows: Larry Lee Morgan of Des Moines, disorderly conduct; Jake John Ball of Jefferson, violation of no contact order (two separate cases); Russell Lee Gardner of Panora, interference with official acts; Curtis Dale Risdal of Scranton, violation of no contact order; and Jesse J. Janssen of Scranton, harassment- third degree.

Persons paid fines for scheduled traffic violations during the week ending July 13 as follows: Tommy Lee Bradshaw of Jefferson, no valid driver’s license, $200; David Wayne Lansman of Grand Junction dark window/windshield, $50; Barbara Joann Murphy of Jefferson, unsafe backing upon highway, $100; Dylan Thomas Naylor of St Louis, MO, operate non-registered vehicle, $50; and Mina Cummings of Jefferson, failure to yield to vehicle on right, $100.
