Greene County magistrate court, week ending July 6

In Greene County magistrate court judgments were entered July 5 in three cases against Nathaniel Brown of Des Moines. In the first case he was charged with trespass. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail. The jail time was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. He was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. He must pay $300 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $60 court costs.

Brown was also charged with trespass in the second case. He was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and a $125 LEI surcharge. Court costs were $60.

In the third case Brown was charged with harassment- third degree. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail. He was given credit for time served and the remaining jail time was suspended. He was placed on informal probation for one year. He was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. He must pay $300 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $127.95 court costs.

Cases were initiated in magistrate court during the week ending July 6 as follows: Niko Lee Rice of Paton, theft- fifth degree; Rodney Wesley Reed of Grand Junction, harassment- third degree; Lawrence Shannon O’Neal of Grand Junction, operate vehicle without interlock device; Dawn Annette Bundy of Rippey, violation of no contact order; Arizona Skye Bunn of Boone, possession of drug paraphernalia; and Bryant Alexander Anderson of Fort Dodge, possession of drug paraphernalia.

Persons paid fines for scheduled traffic violations during the week ending July 6 as follows: *Hunter Dale Kinney of Rippey and *Thomas Michael Rink of Scranton, failure to maintain control, $100; Marshall Keith Hoyt of Perry, no valid driver’s license, $200; Omar Alvizo Gutierrez of Marshalltown, speed, $170; Joel Mark Lange of Jefferson, dark window/windshield, $50; Kelsey Dee Coffin of Grand Junction, operate without registration, $50; and Gary Dean Reiher of Allison, operate non-registered vehicle, $50.

Also, speed, $90 (16-20 mph over limit): Michael Douglas Wenger of Paton.

Speed, $80 (11-15 mph over limit): Christopher William Black of Independence and Jacob Ambrose Bell of Des Moines.

Speed, $40 (6-10 over): Carol Jean Libolt of Rockwell City, *Gary Dean Gilbert of Fort Dodge, and Clint Michael Dennhardt of Rippey.

Speed, $20 (1-5 over): Greg Thomas Glass of Marion, Ted Maxwell Stuart, Brian Arthur Gallien and Orion F Virchow, all of of Des Moines, Caleb Stephen Burke of Boone, Linda Joan Culbertson of Bayard, Mary Kathryn Bailey of Urbandale, Stanley David Teggatz of Cedar Rapids, Jeffrey Lind Sturgis of Waukee, and Richard Henry Schultes of Dedham.

Failure to wear/maintain safety belt, $50: Jack Franklin Williams and David Alan Carhill of Jefferson and Rachael Cathering Moore of Goldfield.

Commercial motor vehicle violations: Denton Duane Wenger of Scranton, maximum gross axle weight violation, $77.50, and maximum group axle weight violation, $22; and Jason Roy Jackson of Lake City, increasing loading capacity re-registration, $20.

Judgments were entered against individuals for nonpayment of scheduled fines as follows (original fine listed): Dallas Edward Forkner and Jerry Lee Vansickel, both of Boone, speed, $40; Aganos Michael Gatkuoth of Denison, operation without registration card or plate, $50, and speed, $20; Brys Quinn Beirman of Carroll, operation without registration card or plate, $50, and failure to provide proof of financial liability, $250; Christopher Paul Murphy of Boone, operation without registration card or plate, 450, failure to provide proof of financial liability, $250, and fraudulent use of registration, $200; *Molly Jean Bertrand of Denison, speed, $90; *Tammy Chree Gould of Bondurant, speed, $20; *Rodney J. Blackmon of Jefferson, failure to obey traffic control device, $100; Bradlee Dewayne Rossin Elmer of Cedar Falls, permit person under age to consume possess alcohol on property, $200; and Sean Michael Mason of Bayard, failure to obey stop or yield sign, $100.

The judgment includes a penalty of one-half the original fine and surcharge.

Court costs were $60 on each citation unless otherwise noted.
