HS equivalency classes start July 18

High school equivalency diploma classes are available through Iowa Central Community College at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson.

Classes will begin Tuesday, July 18, and are held regularly Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 8:30 pm. Use the south entrance to the church.

Students will earn an adult high school equivalency diploma after successfully completing tests in language arts writing, language arts reading, social studies, science and mathematics. The multiple choice tests measure a person’s ability to read and process information, solve problems, and communicate effectively. The battery of tests is developed by the ETS®, Educational Testing Service. The high school equivalency diploma is issued by the Iowa Department of Education.

Interested students may register the first day they attend class. Adults 17 years and older who have not completed a high school degree are welcome. Call Ann Waynar at 515-574-1959 or email her at waynar@iowacentral.edu for more information.
