Business transition topic of Business After Hours June 19

Business transition – The words “transition” and “succession” are used for businesses looking at their plans for change at the time of their choosing. A formal business transition plan puts the goals, priorities and strategies in place for a successful transition. Without a clearly defined plan, business owners are leaving their personal and financial future to chance. Planning ahead is key.

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) offers valuable free, confidential help utilizing their consultants. On Monday, June 19, Jefferson Matters: Main Street and Greene County Development Corporation are offering a free presentation to learn more about business transition and free services offered.

SBDC consultant Kimberly Teifenthaler will lead this Business After Hours presentation at the Jefferson Elks lodge. A panel of local business people will also be involved with the goal to bring about awareness and assistance in order for transitions to be as seamless as possible.

The social time begins at 5:15 pm with a free drink courtesy of Greene County Development Corporation and light snacks. The presentation will begin at 5:45 pm and last for 45 minutes to an hour.

The public is invited to attend and particularly all of the businesses in Greene County. This is a great first step in planning for the future of your business.

Bonnie Silbaugh and Ken Paxton are chairing this free session for the economic vitality committee of Jefferson Matters: Main Street.
