May 29:  Chris Henning of Franklin Township cherishes the peonies and irises planted by Florence Molle, the original owner of the vintage farmhouse where Chris now lives. According to Florence’s granddaughter Lynn Ezekiel of New York City, the peonies are more than 50 years old. Lynn commented that she can almost smell them as she looks at Chris’s picture.

May 29: Barb Brooker of Jefferson shows how pretty the Raccoon River Valley Trail is this time of year. This photo was taken not far from Jefferson.

May 14: A pot of gold is in the beholder. Views of the rainbow that decorated the sky over Jefferson Monday morning show the end of the rainbow, and the mythical pot of gold, at AAI, manufacturer of gymnastics equipment (think Olympic gold), Wild Rose Casino (jackpot!), and the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower (now just one year past its golden anniversary).

The pictures were taken by Andy Krieger and shared with GreeneCountyNewsOnline readers by Kristin Russell.
