The 2017 Market to Market Relay has come and gone, with 2,500 runners in high spirits on the courthouse square Saturday morning, and all hints that anything special happened gone before lunch.

The 75-mile race starts in front of the courthouse and ends in Des Moines via the Raccoon River Valley Trail. Fastest time for the relay was 7:02:29.6, set by a team calling itself Six Pack and a Pound Fest. That’s a pace of 5:44 per mile. The second place team, #ZCrew, had a pace of 6:19 and a total time of 7:46:17.8.
