Greene County competed at Denison-Schleswig on Thursday, May 11, to qualify for state competition. Megan Durbin, Olivia Hansen, Janelle Brophy, Megan Doran and Melanie Doran will represent the Rams at the state coed meet as will Carter Morton, Logan Lansman, Chase Stoline, Colby Kafer and Nick Schroeder.

The girls finished fifth out of eight teams with 70 points. Denison-Schleswig was the district champion, totaling 176 points. The boys were eighth with 38 points. Sergeant Bluff-Luton won the boys’ district title, scoring 178 points.

“Seeing what our district was like going into last night, I’m happy we were able to get some things into state,” admitted boys’ coach Dean Lansman. “We always stress we want to be better at the end of the season than where we started. You couldn’t have asked for a better night to run weather wise and we were able to set some season bests and personal records, which was great to see.”
