Climbing a Greene County wind turbine featured on IPTV show

Johnston, Iowa – Wind turbine climbing in Greene County will be featured on Iowa Public Television’s Iowa Outdoors series on Wednesday, May 24, at 6:30 pm and Saturday, May 27, at 9 am. This episode features wind turbines, marsh paddling and an Iowa trail app.

Wind turbines have become a ubiquitous landmark on the Iowa countryside. But as common as turbines have become, few have an opportunity to climb these towers and see our state from above.

“Iowa Outdoors brings viewers stories of people, places and adventure, from border to border, from water to land and the trails in between,” said executive producer Andrew Batt. “We bring you the beauty of Iowa with more features than ever before.”

Join hosts Scott Siepker and Kellie Kramer as they travel around Iowa learning about outdoor recreation, environmental issues, conservation initiatives and Iowa’s natural resources. This season will feature landscapes and activities such as wind turbine climbing, whitewater paddling, mountain biking and survivor camp.
