Greene County district court, week ending May 4

In Greene County district court Victorino Pena Perez, 39, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment May 4 after he pleaded guilty to a charge of fraudulent practice- third degree, amended from fraudulent practice- second degree. He was placed on informal probation. He just pay a civil penalty of $625 and a Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge of $125. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)

Ryan Christopher Ecklund, 33, of Jefferson was sentenced April 28 to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of sex offender registration violation- aggravated misdemeanor, amended from sex offender registration violation- second or subsequent offense. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for one year. Ecklund was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. Court costs were $121. (Sentencing: Kester)

Eiddie Mun, 32, no home town given, was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of gambling- false statement on application for employment. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for one year. A judgment was entered for a $625 fine with as $218.75 surcharge. The court determined Mun is unable to pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $121. (Sentencing: Kester)

Angela Rae Lowmiller, 19, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after she pleaded guilty to a charge of theft- fourth degree, amended from theft- third degree. She will be on informal probation for one year. Lowmiller must pay a $315 civil penalty with a $125 LEI surcharge. She must also pay $898 victim restitution and $302.75 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Kester)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Erica Murphy, 26, of Jefferson, accessory to a felon; Michael Allen Kennedy, 52, of Nevada, possession of burglar’s tools; Aaron Joseph Skalla, 26, of Jefferson, assault causing bodily injury; Julie Ann Wells, 40, of Auburn, possession of marijuana- second offense and operating vehicle without owner’s consent; Allen George Smith, 40, of Grand Junction, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness; and James Michael Lefeber, 34, of Jefferson, eluding (speed mover than 25 over the limit). Trial dates were set for June 13 in every case.

Cases were initiated in district court during the week ending May 4 as follows: Ricky Eugene Comer, 61, of Grand Junction, possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense; and Uvette Michelle Winger, 33, of Jefferson, burglary- third degree.
