The Greene County middle school girls placed second out of six teams at the Perry Relays on Friday, April 21. They scored 126 points. The winner was Winterset with 145.

“Our athletes looked strong in their events and came through with some good times and distances,”  commended Coach Teresa Green.

  • 200-meters – Makala Kafer  29.32, first
  • 400-meters – Maddie VanPelt  1:13.79, second
  • 800-meters – Sadie Wilson  2:58.87, third
  • 100-meter hurdles – Lillian Muir  19.01, first
  • 200-meter hurdles – Makala Kafer  32.16, first; Maddie VanPelt  34.76, third
  • 4×100 relay – Maddie Hayes, Kaydi Newby, Kendall Fecher, Caroline Kellogg 1:05.95, fifth
  • 4×200 relay – Maddie Hayes, Addi Adcock, Kendall Fecher, Caroline Kellogg 2:21.63, fourth
  • 4×400 relay – Lillian Muir, Brianna Osterson, Sadie Wilson, Makala Kafer 4:53.88, second

  • Long jump – Lillian Muir and Brianna Osterson 13’ 10.5”, third place tie
  • Shot put – Paige Egeland 26’ 2.25”, first; Brooklyn Olson  24’ 2.5”, third
  • Discus – Brooklyn Olson  68’ 5”, second

“Our team did a great job in the field events and in the running events. When we combine the seventh and eighth grade teams, we have a very strong team,” noted coach Roger Olhausen.
