Highway 30 closed at GJ for overpass project

Highway 30 is now closed east of Grand Junction for construction of a new bridge over the Union Pacific railroad tracks. Construction is expected to take seven months.

The Iowa Department of Transportation has posted a primary detour route that uses Highway 169 on the east side of the closure and Highway 144 on the west side, with County Road E-26 through Dana on the north.

A secondary route is also planned in the event any of those three roads must be temporarily closed during the project. The plan takes into account the construction of MidAmerican Energy’s Beaver Creek Windpark, which will be done while Highway 30 is closed.
