Greene County magistrate court, week ending April 20

In Greene County magistrate court a judgment was entered April 12 against Kimberly Ann Mustang of Jefferson in a case initiated in district court. Mustang pleaded guilty to a charge of domestic abuse assault- simple, amended from domestic abuse assault- aggravated. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail; all but four were suspended. She was placed on informal probation for one year. She must complete a batterers education program at her own expense. Charges against Mustang of false imprisonment and harassment- aggravated were dismissed. Mustang must pay $177.45 court costs and $120 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees.

Jeffery E. Mize of Kingsley was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative (LEI) surcharge on a charge of trespass (casino self-exclusion). He paid $300 toward his court costs. A judgment was entered for the remaining $89.90 court costs, and the fine and surcharges.

A judgment for a $65 fine and a $22.75 surcharge was entered against Amber Janell Revell of Jefferson on a charge of assault- simple, amended from domestic abuse assault- first offense. Court costs were $389.86.

A judgment for a $65 fine with a $22.75 surcharge was entered against Nathaniel Byerly of Churdan on a charge of harassment- third degree, amended from assault simple. Court costs were $115.

Timothy M. Cadden of Jefferson paid a fine of $65 with a $22.75 surcharge on a charge of assault- simple. Court costs were $60.

In a new case not previously listed on the docket, Anjanette Stephany Forkner of Scranton was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge on a charge of harassment- simple. The case was initiated in district court as Forkner was charged with harassment- second degree. A judgment was entered for $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. Court costs were $60.

Cases were initiated in magistrate court as follows: Nathaniel Brown of Des Moines, trespass; Ricky Eugene Comer of Grand Junction, trespass; and Jesus M. Zuniga Jr of Jefferson, trespass.

Persons paid fines for scheduled traffic violations during the week ending April 20 as follows: *Michael Francis Minnehan of Churdan and *Jacob Mark Spaulding of Scranton, failure to maintain control, $100; Thomas Todd Mertz of Perry, unsafe approach to certain stationary vehicle, $100; Brandon James Olson of Cedar Falls, dark window or windshield, $50; Nancy Renee Carhill of Jefferson, failure to yield to vehicle on right, $100; Gabriel Earl Olson of Paton and Samuel Lewis Carter of Jefferson, operate non-registered vehicle, $50; and Ian Maurice Schmitt of Jefferson, unsafe backing upon highway.

Also, speed, $90 (16-20 mph over limit): *Kathy Jo Boudewyns of Des Moines.

Speed, $80 (11-15 mph over limit): Michael Wayne Wood of Lidderdale, Julie Kay Kerkhoff of Waukee, and Adam William Choruzek of Dana.

Speed, $40 (6-10 over): *Cassie Marie Maguire of Rockwell City, Shanil Ashik Patel of Wilmington, DE, Benjamiln P. Eberline of Morton Grove, IL, *Salissou Sani Saidou of Carroll, and Grace Emma Whitfield of Grand Junction.

Failure to obey stop/yield sign, $100: Elizabeth Marie Lindgren of Jefferson and Kyle William Coffman of Minburn.

Judgments were entered against individuals for nonpayment of scheduled fines as follows (original fine listed): *Jonathan Phillip Michael Kennedy of Bagley, speed, $40; *Rachel Suzanne Smith of Lake City and Joseph Thomas Romeo II of Jefferson, failure to provide proof of financial liability, $250; *Terry Ray Anschutz of Jefferson, failure to maintain control, $100; Eiddie Mun of Grand Junction, no valid dirver’s license, $200; Kelli Rene Luther of Jefferson, unsafe backing upon highway, $100; and Brittany Star Bowman of Jefferson and Stephen Arthur Molle of Jamaica, failure to obey stop or yield sign, $100.

The judgment includes a penalty of one-half the original fine and surcharge.

Court costs were $60 on each citation unless otherwise noted.
