Greene County district court, week ending April 20

Kyle Cuddy, 30, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment April 14 after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of burglary- third degree. He was placed on informal probation. Cuddy must pay a civil penalty of $625 with a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative (LEI) surcharge. He must also pay $1,380 victim restitution, restitution for his court appointed attorney in an amount to be determined, and $1,390.72 court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)

James Alan Watters, 50, of Jefferson was sentenced to five years in  prison after he pleaded guilty to burglary- third degree, amended from burglary- first degree. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for three years. He was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge and a $125 LEI. He must pay $751.67 victim restitution. Watters was sentenced to 365 days in jail on a charge of domestic abuse assault- aggravated, amended from domestic abuse assault displaying or using a weapon. All but 10 days were suspended and he was placed on probation for one year. The sentences are concurrent. Watters must pay sheriff’s room and board fees for the time he serves. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge on the domestic abuse charge. No judgment was entered on charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon and sexual assault. Watters must pay $240 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $474 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)

Stephen Arthur Molle, 21, of Jamaica was sentenced to two days jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana, amended from conspiracy to manufacture, deliver of possess marijuana with intent to deliver. The jail time was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He drivers license was revoked for 180 days. Molle was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge, a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE), and a $125 LEI surcharge. court costs were $100. A charge in magistrate court of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. Court costs in that case were $60. (Sentencing: Kester)

Persons pleaded not guilty as follows: Nastassia Chanel Goff, 32, of Grand Junction, obstructing prosecution or defense; Jamie Ray Alvarado, 22, of Grand Junction, driving while license barred; Kathleen Ann Specht, 57, of Jefferson, public intoxication- third or subsequent offense; Steven Craig Gibson, 62, of Guthrie Center, gambling- false statement on employment application; Michael Eugene Hamilton, 40, of Grand Junction, domestic abuse assault- third or subsequent offense; and Dennis Michael Trizila II, 30, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- first offense. Trial dates were set for June 13 in every case.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Kaleb Brook McKinsey, 27, of Jefferson has been charged with forgery- two counts. The warrant was issued March 2016 and returned April 18.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that James Michael Lefeber, 35, of Jefferson has been charged with burglary- first degree and sex abuse- third degree. The warrant was issued Jan. 3 and returned April 17.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Theodore John Herrick, 36, of Jefferson, driving while license barred; Jesus M. Zuniga Jr, 18, of Jefferson, burglary- third degree (motor vehicle) and carrying weapons; James Michael Lefeber, 35, of Jefferson, eluding (speed more than 25 mph over the limit); Daryle Dewayne Snyder Jr, 48, of Muscatine, theft- second degree and ongoing criminal conduct; Angela Dawn Beem, 46, of Jefferson, public intoxication- second offense; and Robert Alan Fry, 53, of Jefferson, ongoing criminal conduct and burglary- third degree (three counts).
