GJ council appoints Lansman as mayor

Teresa Lansman

The Grand Junction city council appointed mayor pro tem Teresa Lansman as mayor at its April 10 meeting. Lansman will fill the position that was vacated when Dave Kersey resigned in February. She will serve as mayor until the November election.

Council member Pierre Kellogg was named mayor pro tem.

The council intends to appoint a council member in May. The appointee will serve until the November election. Voters can call for a special election by submitting a petition, but in either case, the person will serve only until the November election.
