The Jefferson park and recreation department, with assistance from the Jefferson Kiwanis Club and several local businesses, will host its annual Easter egg hunt this Saturday, April 15, at the Greene County Community Center. There is no charge to participate.

Pre-registrations are encouraged. Same-day registration will begin at 9:30 am, with the hunt at 10 am.

Children will be split into four age groups: ages 2 and younger, 3- and 4-year-olds, 5-year-olds and first graders, and second and third graders.  The Easter Bunny will assure that all children receive a treat.

The Churdan library will host an Easter egg hunt at 9:30 am. The hunt will be indoors in the event of rain.

Animal Protection and Education (APE) will hold its annual Easter egg hunt for canines Saturday at Daubendiek Park in Jefferson.

Registration begins at 12:30 pm with the hunt at 1 pm. All dogs must be on leashes, and all dogs and their favorite humans will get goodies.

There is a $4 charge per dog, with all proceeds benefitting low cost spay and neuter clinics in west central Iowa.
