Jump Rope for Heart a success

During the early weeks of February, students from Greene County Elementary and Intermediate Schools “jumped all over heart disease and stroke” by participating in the annual Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser.

Volunteer students from second through sixth grade participated in this year’s event, raising $9,287 for the American Heart Association.  Funds raised for JRFH help fight heart disease and stroke and contribute to research.

“This year’s event was again a great success. The students did a fantastic job raising the amount we did. We are very proud of these students as they have found a worthwhile cause and have worked so hard to support it,” Lori Danner, physical education teacher and JRFH coordinator said.  “We would like to thank the parents, our schools and the surrounding communities who have helped and donated towards the American Heart Association.”

Fellow PE teacher Sean Thompson also helped with organizing the event.
