Accelerated gov’t students raise $1,050 for Helping Tiny Hands

A trio of Greene County High School students were recently recognized for efforts they undertook to raise money for Holding Tiny Hands, a parent group dedicated to supporting families with newborns in the neonatal intensive care unit at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Kenna Marquardt, Hannah McConnell and Logan Kohl raised $1,050 for Holding Tiny Hands with a bake sale and a chuck-a-duck at the Feb. 18 home basketball game. The project was completed as part of the accelerated government class.

Holding Tiny Hands executive director Bob Selby called the students’ efforts “truly inspirational.”
