Jefferson Elks bring national speaker to Greene Co schools

Jefferson Elks Lodge #2306, in cooperation with the Iowa Elks Association, is bringing Ray Lozano to the Greene County Middle School and High School Wednesday, March 29. Lozano is a drug and substance prevention specialist and youth speaker. Lozano will speak at the middle school from 8:45 to 9:45 am and from 10 to 11 am at the high school.

Lozano’s varied experience professionally has equipped him to become the unique speaker he is today. His career started out in the Teen Challenge Ministry Institute. He served as a vice principal in an elementary school where he launched an after-school program promoting a family-oriented, drug-free philosophy.

He also was program specialist for a successful youth prevention program at an internationally known hospital providing drug and alcohol education for youth ages 14-18. He is currently associated with the Elks National Drug Awareness Program and travels the country speaking at middle schools and high schools.

One of the stops on his career path was as a stand-up comedian, including stops at the Improv in Hollywood and Ontario, CA. Many school audiences have asked for him a second and third time. His presentations are fresh, relevant, and his information is always updated.

Lozano holds a current certification as prevention specialist by the state of California as a drug and alcohol counselor.

Parents are invited to attend either of his presentations.
