Greene County magistrate court, week ending March 16

In Greene County magistrate court judgments were entered March 15 against Michael Jason Godwin of Jefferson in three cases. In one case, he was charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness in district court. The charge was amended to assault- simple. He was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. Court costs were $60. In a second case, he was charged with theft- fourth degree and tampering with a witness or juror in district court. The charge was amended to theft- fifth degree and he was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. Court costs were $100.

The third case was initiated in magistrate court on a charge of false report to public entity. Godwin was fined $65 with a $2275 surcharge. He must pay $120 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $81 court costs.

A judgment was entered against Joe Edward Blackmon of Grand Junction on a charge of theft- fifth degree. He was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. He must also pay $134.83 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees, $80 court costs, and $4 restitution to Kum & Go.

A judgment was entered against Shane Detlef Coil of Jefferson on a charge of assault- simple. He was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. Court costs were $60.

A judgment was entered against Michael Marlin Matthews of Grand Junction on a charge of public intoxication. He was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge. He must pay $300 in court appointed attorney’s fees and $158.40 court costs. A charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed.

Daryn Joseph Mallory of Jefferson was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge on a charge pf public intoxication. Court costs were $60.

A judgment was entered against Angela Dawn Beem of Jefferson on a charge of theft- fifth degree. She was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge. She must also pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge and $60 court costs.

Cases were initiated in magistrate court during the week ending March 16 as follows: Michelle Lynn Ely of Moorland, theft- fifth degree; Conner Laine Lopez of Jefferson, possession of drug paraphernalia; Jamie Ray Alvarado of Grand Junction, possession of drug paraphernalia; and Jacob Thomas Monthei of Jefferson, possession of drug paraphernalia.

Persons paid fines for scheduled traffic violations during the week ending March 16 as follows: Alisha Raye Day of Jefferson, registration violation, $20; Ian James Jewett of Paton and Megan Ann Stuhr of Fort Dodge, dark window or windshield, $50; and Dorena Rae Wilson of Paton, failure to yield to vehicle on right, $100.

Also, speed, $80 (11-15 mph over limit): Christine Marie Helbling of Granger, and Regina Rose Eischeid of Lake View.

Speed, $40 (6-10 over): Logan Wayne Grazier of Scranton.

Speed, $20 (1-5 over): Sheila Ann Rice of Paton, Greg Allen Newsum of Ames, Raymond Wayne Cornelius and Joan Elizabeth Guess of Scranton, Andrew Patrick Smith of Carroll, *Georgia Glyn Rea Andrew of Malvern, Jeremy Joel Henning of Jefferson, and Kimberly Dawn Swanson of Grand Junction.

Judgments were entered against individuals for nonpayment of scheduled fines as follows (original fine listed): Suanne Elaine Winters of Glidden, failure to maintain registration plate, $20, and failure to provide proof of financial liability, $250; *Bobby Lee Hunt of Churdan, speed, $20; James Henry Van Buskirk of Onawa, open container- driver, $200; Jake John Ball of Jefferson, speed, $40; and Ryan J Murrphy of Jefferson, improper brake light, $30.

The judgment includes a penalty of one-half the original fine and surcharge.

Court costs were $60 on each citation unless otherwise noted.

*An additional $5 county surcharge was added.
