P-C celebrates reading on Dr Seuss’s birthday

Principal Annie Smith reads ‘Green Eggs and Ham’

Paton-Churdan elementary students celebrated Dr Seuss’s birthday and Read Across America Day Friday.

The day’s activities included dress-up fun as children and teachers dressed as book characters, a read-aloud of “Green Eggs and Ham” and green eggs and ham prepared by principal Annie Smith, Reading Buddies time, birthday cupcakes and more.

Kindergartners Ean Hobbs and Ruby Tasler enjoy green eggs and ham.

Read Across America Day is coordinated by the National Education Association. Thousands of schools and libraries participate by bringing together kids, teens and books.
