‘Family Storyteller’ offered by Extension in Jefferson

Registration deadline is April 17

Early literacy skills are a strong predictor of school success. Help your child get a great start on reading and be prepared for school with Family Storyteller through Greene County Extension & Outreach.

This free program is offered to preschoolers and their families through funding provided by Community Partnership for Protecting Children. Children have fun with books, receive activities to do at home, learn the value of reading, practice skills, and receive six free books to take home.

Kids and parents will meet Monday and Thursday evenings for three weeks beginning April 20. They will share a free meal beginning at 5:30 at First United Methodist Church in Jefferson.

Class size is limited and registrations can be made by called Greene County Extension & Outreach at 515-386-2138. Registration deadline is April 17.

“Family Storyteller is a wonderful investment in your child’s future,” a spokesperson said.
