‘Shrek the Musical’ this weekend at Greene County HS

Tickets for the Greene County High School production of “Shrek the Musical” are available now at the school office, Home State Bank, and Peoples Trust & Savings Bank in Jefferson.

Show times are Friday, March 3, and Saturday, March 4, at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, March 5, at 2 pm at the school auditorium. Dinners in the high school cafeteria precede the show Friday and Saturday. Click here for details.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.

In lead roles are seniors Jack Schilling as Shrek, Michael Kennedy as Donkey, Kenna Marquardt as Fiona, and Maddie Schroeder as teen/ogress Fiona. Other roles are Edwin Lenchanko, Lord Farquaad; Nadia Fisher, Dragon; Hannah Promes, Gingy; Emily Heupel, Pinocchio; Kara Betts, Sugar Plum Fairy; Jacob Hanson, Big Bad Wolf; Nolan Ford, guard; and Kaitlin Tjostem, young Fiona.

Other cast members are Natalie Payan, Claire Teusch, Megan Higgins, Lydia Leggitt, Arthur Bardole, Susan Mills, Skylar Spaulding, Braden Cervey, Jordan Davis, Alexis Bumgardner, Gabe Jensen, Naomi Long, Jordan Patterson, Logan Lawson, Hannah Stein, Olivia Hansen and Hannah Yetter.

The musical is directed by Dave Heupel, assisted by Darren Jackson and technical assistance from Clay Ross and Josh Hedges. Chad Schmertmann on piano and community volunteers provide the musical accompaniment.

“Shrek the Musical” is based on the 2001 DreamWorks film “Shrek,” with music by Jeanine Tesori and the book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire.
