First Java & Juice slated for Friday

Java & Juice in Jefferson is a way for the public to get acquainted with the various businesses and the employees in the Main Street district. The kick-off of this new project of Jefferson Matters: Main Street’s economic vitality committee is Friday, March 3, from 9:30 to 10 am at Unger Insurance.

The public is invited to a different business each Friday at 9:30 for java, juice and possibly a small treat with the goal of socializing and browsing. At 9:45 the business owner will introduce his or her employees, share some history, celebrate a success, or tell about a new product line or service. It is an opportunity to share whatever they would like. This event ends at 10 am.

Economic vitality chairperson Scott Weber introduced this idea to Jefferson from his days in Cherokee. “Friday morning was a great time to get out of the office and socialize at some of our fellow business owner’s shops. Many times a new employee was introduced or an anniversary was being celebrated. The Friday event gave the public a chance to see what is going on our retail and service businesses. We had about 20-30 people attend each week, and hope we can be that successful in Jefferson. ”

The March schedule is as follows:

  • March 3 – Unger Insurance
  • March 10 – New Hope Bargain Shoppe
  • March 17 – Fudge’s Flowers & Gifts
  • March 24 – Addie’s
  • March 31 – Meythaler Photography

These events are also listed as events on the Jefferson Matters: Main Street website at www.jeffersonmatters.org or you can follow these on the Facebook page.
